2023 was an incredible year for Swindon Independent Film Festival, with over 170 submissions to the festival which formed a full and diverse programme, showcasing the best of independent cinema.

Looking ahead to 2024

As we make our way through 2024, planning is very much in full swing for the team at Swindon Film Festival. When reviewing the options for the 2024 festival, the team have been assessing all avenues for this year.

Owing to circumstances beyond Swindon Film Festival’s control, the team have decided to postpone the festival. The new dates for the festival are 8th – 12th October 2024.

With the the festival being delayed, the submission deadline has now been extended to 31st July 2024.

Commenting on the change of dates, Clegg Bamber, Communications Director for the festival said: “Unfortunately we have had to move the dates of this years festival owing to matters that were beyond the control of the festival.

“We are keen to ensure we give as much opportunity to filmmakers to submit to the 2024 festival. The team were keen to extend the submission deadline to give as much of an opportunity as possible.

“However, we are working behind the scenes to ensure the 2024 festival showcases the very best of independent cinema.”
